Living Philanthropic

I was really inspired by Carlo who started Living Philanthropic where he gives on average $5-$10 (sometimes more, but never less than $5) to a different charity every day.  What’s most inspiring is that he’s not rich – he’s a regular guy with a regular income and he’s showing the rest of us that we can make a difference.  In addition to the monetary donation he is making the charities, many of them small and local, are getting a lot of exposure not to mention the additional donations they are getting from people that are following Carlo.

Over the past week or so I’ve been thinking I should really try to do this myself.  I think I can find at least $5 a day that I would have spent on a soda, gum, coffee, eating out for lunch or other frivolities that could give to charity instead.  With Lent upon us and many people giving up things like lattes, candy, and booze now seemed to be a good time to start.  After discussing with my sweetie who was equally inspired by Carlo, we have decided to give to a different charity every day through lent. #giveeveryday

I started Unsolicited Advice because I want to help people achieve their dreams.  One of my personal goals is to make a difference and this seemed like a good way to start.
